Lidocaine is a topical anesthetic gel/ointment that helps alleviate itching, burning, discomfort and pain due to sunburns, minor cuts, plant poisoning, scrapes, insect bites and hemorrhoids. This is also used as a local anesthetic to numb the gums during dental procedures and to decrease discomfort or pain during certain medical procedures and exams. This may also be prescribed for nerve pain caused by post-herpetic neuralgia and bring down inflammation in the mouth and throat. Your physician may use this to treat other ailments based on their discretion.
Dosage Instructions
Follow the Lidocaine dosage prescribed by your physician. The dosage could vary based on individual patient requirements. Always follow your physician’s instructions or go by the directions on the prescription drug label. Wash your hands before and after you use Lidocaine. The right way to use it is to apply a small amount on the affected area and gently massage it into skin. Never apply the gel/ointment over broken skin.
Missed a dose?
