Sumatriptan–Naproxen 85mg-500mg is indicated for the treatment of acute migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. Sumatriptan–Naproxen helps relieve other migraine symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light/sound. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Sumatriptan–Naproxen will not reduce the frequency of migraine attacks. This drug does not prevent migraines and it will only treat a headache that has already started.
Sumatriptan–Naproxen is a fixed combination medication that contains 2 ingredients: Sumatriptan and Naproxen. Sumatriptan belongs to a class of drugs called triptans, which works by reducing swelling of the blood vessels in the brain. Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which works by blocking certain substances that cause pain in the body.
What is the recommended dosage of Sumatriptan–Naproxen?
The dosage of Sumatriptan–Naproxen prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.
Take Sumatriptan–Naproxen with or without food. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not take more than two tablets in a 24-hour period.
